What is eco-glitter?
Eco-glitter is a product that is over 90% biodegradable, made from plant-based cellulose, and produced using sustainably grown European eucalyptus wood. Eco-glitters can be used on the skin and hair in exactly the same way as other cosmetic glitters, and there are no traces of metals or other toxins in the products. The pigment for eco-glitters is conjured onto the surface with natural dyes, and that wonderful shimmer on the glitter's surface is achieved with a 0.1% aluminum coating (small amounts of aluminum also occur naturally in soil!). We know that an aluminum surface might sound alarming, but there is no danger because completely non-toxic substances are used in the production of eco-glitters, so no dangerous compounds can be formed. Amazing, right?!
